Acupressure is a traditional Japanese treatment method that is almost twice as old as acupuncture, but is often confused with it. In its application , specific points on the body are stimulated with the thumb or a needle, which is intended to trigger the release of pain-relieving endorphins, release muscle tension, and improve blood circulation.

In traditional Thai massage,  acupressure points are treated using the palms and thumbs, or sometimes elbows and feet. Additionally, the body is passively moved into yoga-like position and stretched. The desired effects include pain relief, improved circulation, stabilization of the spine and joints, and the release of muscle tension and headaches. Thai massage can enhance body awareness and overall well-being.
